Crime bites: Boy rapes younger pupil in school toilet

KaMajika – Teaching stopped at Majika Primary School on Monday after a 14-year-old boy was caught raping a younger boy in the toilets. Two Grade 3 pupils aged 9 and 11 found the older boy attacking a 10-year-old. He then forced them to join in as punishment for catching him. The boy’s mother says he was copying what happened to him when he was raped years ago. He’s been moved to another school while police investigate.
Mankweng – Police have caught four people aged 25 to 62 selling drugs near a university. On Sunday, police found a man, 30, with drugs near gate 2. Another suspect, 25, had 550 packets of nyaope, 30 packets of crystal meth, and 35 pieces of rock cocaine worth R31,250. They also caught two women – one aged 41 and another aged 62 at Ga-Molekane Village with 245 packets of dagga and 5kg more dagga in plastic. All will appear in Polokwane court soon.
Khayelitsha – A pastor, 51, has been arrested for raping a girl, 15, and two women aged 22 and 23 at his church. He told people to stay at the church for healing, then forced them to have sex with him, saying it would heal them. The attacks happened between November 2022 and January this year. He appeared in Khayelitsha court on Tuesday.
Senwabarwana – Police found six stolen cattle at an auction near Mokopane. Someone had changed the brand marks on the cows. Police took them to the Blouberg municipality pound while they look for the owners. Anyone missing cattle should call Warrant Officer Malatji on 082 319 9532.
Ficksburg – Four people were arrested on Saturday for killing police officer Constable Justice Sephooa from the Ficksburg Crime Intelligence Unit. On 21 January, two men went to his home and one shot him twice before running away. All four appeared in court on Tuesday.
Polokwane – Police have arrested a man for murder at a tavern in Saselamani. On Saturday, he stabbed a man, 41, in the upper body. The victim died on his way to the hospital. The killer will appear in Polokwane court soon.
