Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the day as Arsenal managed a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park. Chelsea, on the other hand, only managed a draw away to Bournemouth.

Mikel Arteta’s side remain one of just four teams still unbeaten in the Premier League, but this time they had to do it the hard way on Merseyside.

The Gunners lost their last three games at Goodison Park, and despite keeping more of the ball throughout, they may have expected another unlucky evening at halftime.

Arsenal lacked precision going up against Sean Dyche’s deep-lying defence, and 20 minutes in they saw a Gabriel Marinelli goal ruled out by VAR for a tight offside in the build-up.

Martinelli was then withdrawn due to injury; and it would be his replacement that would get the job done.

Trossard was on the end of another fine set-piece display as Arsenal scored from a corner for the 16th time since the beginning of last season — more than any other side in that time frame.

The Gunners also kept their 12th away clean sheet in the league since the start of the last campaign, five more than Manchester City who have kept the second most.

The result will be one that Arteta and the fans will appreciate, as they look to go one better than their second-place finish in last season’s title race.

In the earlier game, despite hitting the woodwork twice, Chelsea struggled to find the back of the net once again.

The Blues scored just five goals this season, their fewest after five games of a campaign in almost 30 years.

Under Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth are yet to pick up a win, though the point will be one won rather than two lost as they move up into 15th place on the table.

The gameweek concludes with Nottingham Forest taking on Burnley on Monday night football.
