Celani Sikhakhane brings you the latest news from Kwa-Zulu Natal

Nongoma – The Zulu Royal Palace built by the KZN government for King Misuzulu KaZwelithini to perform royal rituals was officially blessed on Tuesday by Inkosi Mduduzi Nyazilwezulu Shembe, leader of the eBuhleni faction of the Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church. The eMashobeni is next to the Nkunzana River in Nongoma, northern KZN. The church service was attended by members of the church and regiments. This is where King Misuzulu KaZwelithini will perform rituals such as the controversial uMkhosi woSelwa, which involves young men grabbing a bull by its horns and killing it. The ritual is performed every December.

Durban – The newly recruited eThekwini Metro Police are facing outrage from those who didn’t make it to the final stages of recruitment. Soon after eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba announced the 500 new Metro Police officers as part of a safety scheme during the festive season, people not on the list started to claim that those who were employed through the recruitment process never underwent requirement processes. This has sparked anger and infighting among ANC comrades in different branches as they accused each other of unfair recruitment.
