Movie-like Monday in the Midlands!

Jhon Duran rescued a point for Aston Villa as they came back from 3-1 down against Liverpool on the final Monday Night Football of the season.

It was peak Premier League from minute one as the Reds struck first on Jurgen Klopp’s last away day as Liverpool manager.

Emiliano Martinez’s bizarre own goal early on was cancelled out by a Youri Tielemans equaliser ten minutes later, with Villa looking strong in the opening half.

The visitors would take a lead into half-time though as Cody Gakpo clinically made it 2-1 midway through the first period.

Diego Carlos could have levelled matters again, but somehow failed to find an empty from inches out in what was arguably the miss of the season.

The Reds would make him pay, as minutes after the break Jarell Quansah got his first Premier League goal to extend their advantage.

Duran’s introduction in the final ten minutes of regular time made all the difference as the Colombian netted twice in three minutes to draw level.

It was just the second occasion where Liverpool have failed to win a league game after leading by two or more goals as late as the 84th minute.

Villa had it all to play for though; and the draw means that one point on the final day against Crystal Palace is likely to be enough for them to secure Champions League football next season.

The eyes of the world will turn to North London on Tuesday as Tottenham Hotspur need nothing but a win to keep their top four hopes alive.

Apart from that, the penultimate 90 minutes of the title race will see Arsenal fans backing their bitter rivals to beat Manchester City, who need a win to go back to the summit ahead of the final day.
