It seems “this is the season” of separations in South Africa, as yet another celebrity couple is calling it quits.

Afrikaans singer Bobby van Jaarsveld and his wife Annatjie announced their divorce on Sunday after 13 years of marriage.

The couple shared the news on Instagram, describing it as “the hardest decision of our lives.”

“This decision was not taken lightly, but we believe it is the best step for both of us,” Bobby wrote.

The pair emphasised their focus on their three children: “We have shared many wonderful moments together and will always love and care for each other. God has blessed us with three beautiful children, and they will always be our priority.”

They promised to remain friends while co-parenting: “Even though our relationship as a couple is ending, we are committed to raising our children together as friends, with the same love they have always experienced.”

The couple also asked for privacy as they “each walk separately on a path of healing.”

Recently, Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi and his wife Rachel, as well as football legend Teko Modise and his wife of three years, have also announced their separations.
