Sizok’thola returns after Xolani Khumalo’s court case

  • Drug-busting reality show ‘Sizok’thola’ is back on Moja LOVE with Xolani Khumalo after a break following criminal charges.
  • Khumalo, accused of murder and other charges, returns as host while investigations continue.

The man known for confronting drug dealers on TV is heading back to screens. Xolani Khumalo is set to return as the host of Moja LOVE’s hard-hitting reality show Sizok’thola.

The channel announced the news on Tuesday, shortly after the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court put murder charges against him on hold. He also faces charges of robbery and damaging property.

Khumalo and his crew were accused after drug dealer Robert Varrie died in July 2023. The incident happened during filming at Varrie’s home.

Following the allegations and an internal investigation, Moja LOVE cancelled the show in November 2023. At the time, the channel said Khumalo had been involved in an incident that contaminated a crime scene and led to the failure to prosecute known drug dealers.

Despite this, the show is coming back for a fourth season — and Khumalo is back as the host.

In a statement, Moja LOVE said: “Much loved drug combating show Sizok’thola returns with Xolani Khumalo at the helm.”

Khumalo said he was thankful for the opportunity to return.

“I have had an opportunity to reflect and look forward to reconnecting with the viewers and showcase my talent,” he said.

“Things are getting out of hand, we are going back to work to clean up communities of crime and drugs.”

Moja LOVE’s Head of Channel, Livhuwani Dagada, said Khumalo would work with law enforcement to fight drugs and raise awareness about the damage they cause.
