Titans go top!
Ahead of the top of the table clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and unbeaten Delhi Capitals, Shubman Gill’s Titans used their opportunity to sneak up into the summit of the Indian Premier League table.
After their narrow defeat to the Punjab Kings in their opening fixture, Gujarat continued to make the Narendra Modi Stadium a fortress as they put 217 on the board against a Royals side that were just beginning to look in form.
Sai Sudharsan was the star, with a 53-ball 83 before Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan both hit 36 each and Rahul Tewatia put on a quick fire 24-run cameo at the back-end.
In response, Rajasthan could only amass 159 before being bowled out. Each of Gujarat’s six bowlers got their names in the wicket taking column, with Prasidh Krishna starring with 3/24 in his four overs.
DC have two games in hand and remain the only side yet to have lost a game. But all eyes will be on the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday as RCB look to stop them and reclaim top spot. The action will be live on SuperSport from 4pm.
